Naomi Launders
I am an epidemiologist and data scientist with over 15 years experience using electronic health records to answer complex public health questions.
My work sits at the interface of data science, public health and epidemiology, and at the interface of physical and mental health.
I am currently funded by an HDR UK Fellowship as part of the Big Data for Complex Disease driver programme.
My current research focuses on using electronic health records, census and cohort data to better study the screening, diagnosis, treatment and outcomes of cancer and cardiovascular disease in people with severe mental illness.
My research interests include:
- The use of electronic medical records and other routinely collected data in epidemiology
- The physical health of people with mental illness
- Health care access and utilisation in people with mental illness
- Drug repurposing and target trial emulation
- Psychiatric epidemiology
- Pharmacoepidemiology
- Causal inference in observational data
